Adsense for search

I got my SE Optimization report from google adsense this month. They have asked me to add Adsense for search on my blog too. There seems to be some problem trying to get the code for it

 

If you come over to the point in the picture, you may have to give a name to your search engine, but whenever I do that I get an error box that tells me that Error in the operation and that I should come back some other time.

This is sometimes frustrating. Since my blog is not a hot pick in terms of Adsense search and other niche blogging areas I am still getting hits because of the C puzzles , so SEO still not a choice for me because I dont have a high traffic blog yet.

 

One news that I would like to share is that google has reduced the effective area on the ads that will get your click through in the ad banners. This was done in November last year , This actually has raised a concern over most of the Adsense forums, since incomes have dropped for many ex adsense fans. I am not bothered since being new to it, everything is just for fun.

 

Google shares have also dropped over the period since last November when they did cutoff the actual area of the ads that are clickable.

I was pretty much impressed with this widget that actually shows on your blog the recent visitors and their pictures, But heck it seems it is a trick where all the recent joinees in the myspace or whichever hosting service that you are using .

I will write my next blog on the fields in general in which a person can write blogs. Well, the genres are something of a boundary less planet, where bloggers do overlap their material.

I usually visit a friends place who does everything online, from tickets, movies, food etc everything. A broadband connection and a mobile fone is all he neeed. If he gets a skype account , he may as well, only make calls from the net.

Coming back to the master topic for the day , I am going to tell you about some of the ways to get traffic in to your blog

poor solution and a tough one to manage. You got to be very careful with those. You need some readers who are dedicate enough to wait for your next upcoming blog but there are others who will just come to site for the only one time in their life ad never to meet again. That is sad,

Moreover there are chances that the RSS feed ( which you can get with http://www.feedblitz.com/ , http://www.feedzilla.com/feed_tracker.asp , http://www.feedburner.com/fb/a/home ) will show the whole post in the feed reader )

Be very careful of those. Even I have to find a way to make my posts only half so that the person reading has to get come over to my blog ) naah , I will let it that way , it is a cheating funda basically.

2. If you are a new blog writer, chances are that your ranks would not be in the top list even if you search you own blog in google.it will take some months before it happens. take this blog as an example you will find it in the search results only after a huge number of pages and if you put the whole site in the search url you will only on or two posts. Try Google webmasters tools to find out when the google bot visited you last

3. Try commenting in other communites and others blogs . Chances are high that for a good comment you might get visits. But that my friend is for people who are doing it for a long time. So no hopes of quick things here

4. Getting free link backs is a tough ask but once you catch hold of newer blogs and newer stuff you might enjoy the chance to be on top in those social networking sites. I will try Stumble upon today . Let me see what comes out of that. Rating sites like comscore and Alexa will help you know your rarings too. Currently as of May 31st 2008. my first month at my second innings in blogging. I am now 26 million plus in ranking. Will have to wait for a few months before I garner some sutff

And finally dont believe in people who say that you need to spend 2 hours a week to earn the big buck . Sorry freinds that is a hoax.

Pay per post stuff

Thinking about all the ways people are making money I searched google today to find out the latest trends in making the buck.

Well, I came across a few sites which actually allow full time bloggers to have a go at it. They will allow you to write something about a product and you can get paid by the advertisers for it. You need to be really good at it, ( so it goes again , if you are not good enough, you will fall behind by a mile ) .

Try this for a bunch of stuff that you can do. Also try to do a search on Izea for PPP stuff ( pay per post )
that way you have a chance of making some money , may be if you are the best in a product review for one item you will end up making $500 in month, but never go by the rankings and earnings of the top the ladder people. Try to be close to the bottom and you will remain happy.

Well, one strong not of warning for PPP guys is it will take your page rank to the sink and you will no longer be visible in the google results. Trust me when I say that a friend of mine who was in the top 10 ranks went to big zero when he went for PPP.

Today I came across this site called Social Spark. The interface almost makes you want to have a go at it. But if you are thinking about long term blogging and not trying alternate stuff ( remember only Google can make really rich , the others will try to become rich themselves fast ) . So , try to do a proper review of whether you want it or, The widget that Social Spark puts on your blog is cute. You can take a look in this blog

I stay in Hyderabad and I am tired of meeting money minded people who have been raising the house rents every six months. Some of the case studies that google themself do

I think the best sources on line for adsense generally include case studies from  people who have just started to earn. They keep a progressive journal of their Adsense activity and keep posting about it in some forum or some place.

 

One of the pdfs I recently downloaded using some torrent ( you wont get the Joel Comm book using torrents though , and it is not of much help ) .

I downloaded the “Still Alive and Well “ pdf from somewhere in the net only to find a boring case study.

 

Some of the interesting and the most reliable ones are from Google itself. Google is hiring people with good communication skills etc to help people get an insight into Adsense by these case studies.

Google themselves have admitted to people doing arbitrage, but then again with each person earning something indirectly means Google making money out of it, so don’t worry if you are using Adwords to find out the high paying keywords , in some way or the other Google benefits.

My husband and I made $32,000 for September 2006 and will make $42,000 for October’s check. I wish we could add ourselves to your list because that would be pretty neat, but we are concerned about my husband’s ex-wife knowing exactly how much we make. We pay her plenty as it is.

We have wanted to get out there and be a part of the Adsense community for a few years now. We know we have something special here and could give some great tips and advice, maybe sell some ebooks. I believe strongly in stating your intention if you want to acheive anything so I will say here that I want this money issue to clear up in the very near future so that we can “come out” (lol) and tell the world how well we’re doing. It would get a ton of local attention as well as Internet mentions, giving us more traffic, of course.

By the way, I’m sure everyone knows this, but the Google checks can be easily scanned and edited in a graphics program. We do that for visualization purposes. The one I am using now for visualization says “1 million”. If you want to get rich, learn about mind power and visualization and use it. Read any success books and they will all tell you that. Lets not talk about people earning in 100 dollars a day , Lets look at the biggest possible picture. Google in itself is the mother of all money makers. So the earnings of these few guys will just give you some hint about what Google itself will be making .

This guy has raked in 900 000 dollars in two months from Google.  Though the thing that he is doing is unique if you were to ask me , In Vancouver he has this dating site which runs for free. Wow, such is the demand for online dating in other countries that people are making loads of money from it alone. 900000 dollars transforms to 3.6 crore rupees in Indian money . With just two employees ( that too his girlfriend ) all the money comes home. He just runs 4 servers to run his business.  His name is Markus Frind. Try and search for him online. You will see what I am talking about .

 

 

Second it seems is the guy who started Digg it, So trust me it is all hard work and a lot of ingenuity in the long run to make the hay when the sun shines.By the way he earns near about 250000 dollars a month. Google is shining and so are our chances to ride on this online business making. Trust me , If you are an Indian the revolution is in its bud, and if you are late you will never be able to sustain the rush in India. With the kind of population explosion it will take months to eat up any new domain that starts up in India. Look at the airlines sectors, news channel , mobile network, medicine anything . The only opportunity is a new niche. You cannot fight the big players, all you need is some ingenuity, Think of something that they would have done but would have done so big that they would require millions spent on just making a start while you can ride with your small venture unless taken over by any of the bigger fishes.

 

Coming back to the topic , we have Jeremy Schoemaker  who makes his 100K plus cheques per month riding on hundreds of quality content sites. He is having a  hard time out there too , trying to cope up with pressures of the job and page making. He must have a tough time trying to enjoy that money too.

 

Weblogs owner Jason Calacanis is the 4 in that list. So impressive was his venture that AOL brought him for 25 million dollars.  He got his network of blogs from blogger itself. Wow that just makes us all new comers and first timers so much more hopeful. But you got to think something different. All these guys were not just plain run of the mill bloggers, They genuinely invested their time and got it back as huge pay cheques from Google.

 

In this list though our very friendly Joel Comm makes it to the 7^th spot. Although he must be making more money out of his book than Adsense.  These guys also try out hundreds of other stuffs online other than Adsense.

 

All the above winners are moneymakers from Adsense. And there are others who are not yet disclosing their stuff because of the Google TOS violations. Someday I will write detailed stuff about the interesting features of the Google TOS and how people have been blocked after having unknowingly crossed the line.

 

What are doorway pages

You will find a million websites trying to explain to you about the same!

Since my last article was all about Keyword pages, I believe that I should write something about spamdexing and doorway pages.

 

Spamdexing as you may know is the art of spamming the indices of the Search Engines to gain prominence in their websites. With money making with Google developing into an art form where they sleep while the bank accounts fatten don’t you ever think that they are not aware of all the hacks that come to your mind every day. It is now more than 5 years they have been tracking websites , spammers and stuff like that . With my Gmail  account seldom getting any spam I believe that Spammer have met their match.

 

Doorway pages (courtesy : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doorway_page)  which are also called , portal pages, bridge pages, zebra pages .

There are hundreds of products out there which make doorway pages for you, These pages have some thing called the meta refresh . Don’t you remember times when you clicked on some page and it tool you a page that was irrelevant or had some amount of content in it. They then refresh to the original page or have direct links to the desired page. This is now becoming increasingly popular with SEO back hatters. More on SEO black hats later.

Try googling for doorway page generators and you will find a lot of information on sites that provide you the same.

 

Abour keyword country

I did come across this site today morning. There is a lot of information on the web currently which all lead to one conclusion that there are millions out there trying each possible way to squeeze and if possible tweak the system for traffic.

 

Try and get used to terms like niche and CPC and CTR because like every other domain you try there will be some jargon and with adsense you need to be really savvy about most of the stuff. Currently we are in May 2008 , the Adsense money makers have already raked their dough by the middle of 2006. You still had some chance of automating most of the stuff like auto article generator and auto matic web page making as well as highly dense keyword pages. You might chance upon so many pages that will have a bunch of keywords and nothing else.

This shows that there are people sitting out there who spend their time analyzing the general search traffic and they figure out the major keywords. Adsense bots will simply add adds relevant to those keywords and fill that page with relevant ads.

 

These kind of content does irritate visitors in the long run and they don’t make much out of the ordeal.

 

Coming back to this website , I found this interesting API they have which lets you do a keyword search and lets you know whether they are high traffic keywords or not.  Gradually this is developing into a science I believe. They also started to measure the effectiveness of some of the keywords with KEI ( Keyword effectiveness Index ) .

Here are some of the sites that you should avoid as well as never try to do the same on your own. Trust me Google has grown and it employs some of the smartest people in the world. They constantly think about how to stop the spammers, Any month old trick is as good as age old on Google and you cannot try it  , you will have a day in the sun but then you will dive deep forever.  They pursue wrong doers to the extent of madness.

I have been trying to find some pages with gibberish content for the last few hours. I am not successful yet. It just goes on to the hard handedness of Google in matters related to Keyword pages.

Strategy as far now

I am a patient guy and all this attempt to write about the way adsense works is time consuming as well a drain on the mental resources ,” trust me”.

 

By this time I think you would have read some of my latest posts and found out  that I have been trying all sorts of tricks in the book to earn money using Google adsense and if you are following me with the tips and tricks you may as well try on it your own.

 

I did not find any sustainable topic that I could write that would have a general impact in the whole reader community, since my passion to write about India alone would have been a weak attempt as far as total interest is compared. Since I thought that writing about what I am trying to do as of now  will be of some refreshment for me as well as people who might chance upon this site and use it for their own good.

 

And starting with that I have already  written some 15 + blogs related to my efforts . I am hoping for my blog to get included in the google search results soon. I already can find my blogs in the search results and may be one day they will reach the results page in google for other topics life Adsense

Some thing about the next blog feature

Since I have been using blogger for a long time I find it interesting that not many people know about this feature.  This is the Add your blog to our listings question that you should answer as yes. Look at the following picture to get what I am talking about

Since it might get some other fellow blogger to your site by chance. Even that can help since with time you will realize the importance of chance encounters , it is somewhat of a lottery but there are hundreds of people out there waiting to read something interesting or the other.

 

But one interesting thing is that the next blog will take you some of the most happening blogs , may not be in terms of adsense and size wise, but it somehow figures out some of the most interesting ones.

 

Today I chanced upon this amazing blog of a person who collects pictures and had posted them to his blog, may be in sharing he finds a lot of pleasure.

 

It harms your adsense count or score with images in your webpage, I guess you know that by now. With three days of research now I am slowly becoming an authority in what not and what yes, but the daylight still a bit far away from me.

 

If I start earning l will definitely make it a point that you guys follow whatever I have done in this small blog of mine

 

Density checkers online

I found out that there are sites that will do a review of your web page and try and give you a correct estimate of the density of most of the keywords in your webpage which will increase your chances that google places a correct and more relevant add in your page.

I came across this above web page which does exactly that. The limit is 40 k + webpages. Google adsense as a program does not believe in getting blogs to their prorgam as there are high chances that the user will not be consistent with his or her content.
Try and adhere to one or two topics at max. I believe that is one of the reasons that I am getting all public service ads on my webpage since I have been too varied and rainbowish in my choice of topics .

I know I have been putting too many irrelevant stuff in one blog but as of now with the time I have in hand with other work and job I am not able to manage multiple blogs so I figured out that the only way to do so will be to put whatever I am reading in one post,

Though half of you might have figured out the amount of hard work that goes in when such a venture is thought of, Try searching for Jason Kotke on line, his blog donations helped him in quitting his job so that he could finally become a full time blogger,
