Finally googles new adsense units

With Chitika E minimalls it was getting difficult to woo customers for the adsense program for sometime.

 

Google has finally come up with new adsense units which are the long 5 unit ones 728 x 90 which is not liked by many as it is difficult to place in , but the other big video one it better,

 

So now online publishers who don’t want to do too much time on their websites sitting and trying to figure out whether or not to put videos on their site, I say that with faster broadband service available in most major towns of countries like ours , it should be easier to get

There is a dedicated channel for Google on You tube , So joining google might some day entitle you for some media stuff. That is always a dream for anyone working on something boring. Isntit. Media is instant recognition for your work.

আজ শনিবার রাত । ADSENSE সর‌ম্ভারটা ডাউন আছে , কিন্তু যেইটা আমার ভালো লাগেনি তা হোলো Google অনেক গুলী ভাষাতেই এইটা রিপোর্ট করেছে কিম্তু বাংলা তে না । এর জন্য দায়ী আমরা । আমরা কোনোদিন কি সেই গৌরব ফিরাতে পারব ।
একটু একটু করে আজকে এটাই লিখতে পারলাম ।

This guy Peter Chen has clearly been writing some cool stuff online. All he does his help people or first time bloggers and trust me there are a lot of sites which help bloggers learn the tips and tricks of business, but this one is genuine stuff. He is a retiree  using Google Adsense to add to this pension money.

 

He usually ranks 1 in most of the searches for help on blogging ( depends on what you are searching though ) . Well, he found this troll out and has pointed it out on his blog. There are internet trolls who roam around the net and answer peoples queries with genuine solutions from other peoples blog. This is not harmful as long as you are not eating away some one elses buck.

 

Anyway, What I am searching now is indentation issues with blogger, whether there is any such thing as indentation in blogger and also get my blog into a 3 column stuff.

Coming to read of it, I pretty much assumed that it was meant for network admins and guys who really depend on information mining from the kind of people accessing their sites.

 

If you go through the Google blogs you will realize that these guys in Google have absolutely no time in hand to do anything other than development. They seem to be running on a mission where sitting around answering people is a loafers job. Well, to that extent Google is ACTUALLY pretty much like Microsoft,

Have you ever tried the help features in Microsoft, it is mainly people who use Windows who found out stuff about it lying here and there and the guys actually, answering through their msdn site, through wizards, or through other kind of help features,

 

Microsoft shows it attitude about helping in a way that you got to buy it to get better response. But coming to think of Google, you actually are not buying any stuff and being addicted is your problem , ( I mean you cannot blame the cigarettes for being addictive , isn’t it ?  )

 

So the motto is if you are not meant to use the google tools, you might as well start trying other stuff. Moreover, they do hold conferences all around the year, that helps them spread their business. They will hire the marketing guys who are completely unrelated to the software field only to bring in expertise on marketing their own tools. Their idea is if you are good you will deliver better

Google to show real time stock quotes

Google finance had a introduced the google screener a few days ago and it was good news for people searching for information online.

After conducting some surveys online I found that people are reluctant to use the rather bland interface of google , and prefer using the glossier ones at Yahoo.
The more they have on one page the better they feel. That they have more hands on knowledge about the stuff they are handling. It is like buying a costlier piece  of article or apparel from a rather glitzy shop than to trust a good deal in a small road side shop. Not all people online believe that the all that glitters is not gold.
Yahoo finance is still the best thing that regular people use online.

 

But the Google Screener was a whiff of fresh air, except that it still had to compete in terms of colours used. I do believe that for software there is no such thing as one color being costlier than the other, so if you are using white, you may as well, use black , rendering has to be done by the machine out there.

 

So Google should stop worrying about losing their virgin , blanched looks and get towards a glowy side or rather one option should at least be provided,
The latest buzz word is that the Nasdaq real time stock quotes will now be available in Google finance. That really helps because the common share market player donot have access to the correct information all the time and they are always playing the games far delayed than the major players

He is the guy who will come with ideas for crazy questions in Google. I accidently came across his site. Now it is bookmarked and I happily spend some idle time reading him.

 

 

What the google guys want is you to see further than the normal process of solving a problem. They are interested in your apts as they say it in the best schools in the world.

 

For example , if they asked you how big the house will have to be to accommodate the population of the world, you may have to end up writing your specifications for the lfit , the car parking area, whether there are choices for the size of the rooms you get, whether there are plumbing issues,

Air and water a must for the internal towers. Whether pressure pretty high for the high rise building. Whether you really stand a chance to get people to work on it , the feasibility analysis, The environmental hazards, they difference of opinion.

Figuring out the Google Bot

I am not really charged up , Till today after noon my blog was in rank 22 when I searched for C puzzles. Now it is 8:23 in the evening and I am literally not anywhere near. I tried to check till the 11th page ( rank110 ) but to no avail.

Google has totally lost my ranks , though today I am getting many new visitors from different parts of the world.

 

Yesterday , me and my friends tried to figure out , what could be the next thing in blogging when you have written so much about Adsense.

 

we finally came out with the following arrangement,

 

1. Psychology of bloggers, ( though that is of not much interest for many, but economics involved in this particular sphere is slowly gaining popularity with many and many people joining the bloggers wagon every minute )

2. Macro Socio economic effects of blogging.

I am currently reading Thomas Friedmans book , The World is Flat. Even he has mentioned Blogging as the new and next phenomenon. It is yet to catch up in India but there are few who are doing it with dedication

 

3. Long term pros and cons of blogging. Does the saturation and the incoming rate reduce the chance for good content to filter up the ladder, I dont think so , but concrerte data needs to be found.

 

4. How many PhD papers are there in economics related to Blogging. With many a millionair out there earning by quitting their day jobs to become full time bloggers.

 

5. What is bloggers block and what all do people do to come across it.

Google , Yahoo and Microsoft trio

I have been thinking about writing this post quite a long time. Why Yahooo keeps evading the Microsoft proposal is something of intrigue for a large number people out there.

If you look at the excellent trio you will realize,

 

Microsoft wants Yahoo to compete with Google in the web Sphere, With MSN doing nothing  even in close to Google in terms of world wide web which is a more popular platform than an OS. Being online will  be living in a few years , you will be doing virtually everything from booking a ticket to the cinema to your travel and the cab that gets you to the airport will be done online. You will be carrying a bunch of online tickets and given that kind of market and possibility and Google going China, we are heading towards a world that will be completely Googled.

 

Now, Yahoo , wants to get a hit with advertising as much as Google does, It is mostly the will to become big and really compete against the Google search, They don’t want the leadership , they want the money that google generates. They are currently making much less profit on their ads than Google does. With 11 % market cap in the search sphere it is now dreaming about making as big as Google.

 

Well, Google does not want to fight Yahoo and Microsoft alone. It wants to anything that will keep the two separate. They are currently allowing Yahoo to sell ads in their own search space to see Yahoo through this deal. Since they have gone ahead with the model I guess there is serious discussions about Yahoo and Google thinking about a long term merger in future, Google will do it for the Yahoo talent and the existing customer base and Yahoo will do it for the bigger backing of Google. Kind of elder brother treatment. Overtures and the Panama advertising  model that Yahoo uses is not a big hit as of now but the model is much different for the Google model.

They are deploying it but the management wants quick results and they aggressively pursuing it, It is up to time to reveal the secrets.

 

AOL and Yahoo know it for sure that for page advertisements the publishers take away 80% of the search revenues leaving a small amount to the search engine but the pages and content owners make more money , with this aim they are planning to make more number of pages online. They are planning to expand and enhance the website ideas as a major source of revenue,

Now that the videos show a lot about Google, and how the employees enjoy out there. This one was a pretty unusual one. There is pseudo monologue going out there

If I were in your position I would not look into what happens inside google and would not have blindly believed in the power of Googles pampering  initiative. How long do you think it will last. The culture they have is a sole give and take policy, so it is also a lot to give from your side.

 

I believe that they have hired so many talented people, each of whom could have individually gone up to the level of being a threat to google itself. Google knows that its biggest enemies is it is size it itself.

Do you know that Seagate spend $2 million every year only for team building with a trip to New Zealand every year for all its employees.

For Indians New Zealand is a special place especially since 2000 when the movie Kaho Na Pyar Hai released and we were exposed to the beauty of the place.

The fight is on

This one is real. On the net you will find hundreds of pages that gives you a boost and outruns your imagination when it comes to confidence building measures . You will be drawn towards a dream of a fat cheque from Google. And that too a stable income from Google in the long run. But everytime you do some business you should remember that with growth you are actually competing with Google.

 

This is one thing that spoils the whole fun of it. People who are into niches completely outside the network of page sthat Google itself maintains you may be able to do better with clicks and ads with adsense but with slow research and experience with Google you will find out that it is not as flowery as the picture that is drawn by the millions of people out there promising about huge profits from google.

They have a network of pages that they maintain and if a advertisers get his customers form Google pages all you get is peanuts . Trust me on this that you need really work out something that works well with the current structure. If you think social networking is your way of life , you may be struck early to find out that most this niche is taken up by google,

 

If you are starting late like sometime now in 2008 you are as good as a decade late in terms of blogging and 2 decades late in terms of web page making. In terms of Adsense you are currently sitting on a huge pile of sites that already has thought about what you are planning to write and you may not be surprised to see that it already contains every possible article conceivable to the human mind already . This is one platform that is  universal and to show that there exists a like minded person across the world somewhere there is not better medium than the Internet. The bizarre to the supernatural , from filthy rich to the poor in Haiti, everyone is online, expressing.

Even the terrorists in the Arab countries are online, What more could you want. I saw Amitabh blogging a few days back. Take it from me, he will generate more clicks than you can even think about in matter of days.

All about google bot

Robot : a machine that resembles a human and does mechanical, routine tasks on command.

 

As per the definition in the dictionary goes. Well the google is the google robot that actually visits all your pages and then indexes them . Right now the internet is so huge and vast that people say that only 1/6 th of the total database is indexed as of now. Though Google is the round about the biggest in terms of knowledge database as far as the net is concerned but it still has a lot to go.

 

How has this come to happen. This happens because the crawlers that google guys had initially wrote depends on the list of URL’s they found embedded in the html files to start with. This tree like structure then grows and keep adding new urls everyday. Googlebot needs your webpage to be linked from somewhere for them to come and access it. With surprising revelations from the Google Story you will come to know that the indexing algorithm that they employ is one of its kind and they keep it a very guarded secret together with the compression they are trying to achieve.

 

Another way to get your page uploaded to their pages it eh google ping which I will write about in a later article. You can do a little bit of search to know about it more. This will have a location to allow you to add your URL . Now there are hundreds and may be millions of pages out there which don’t have any backlinks from any of the site Google has in its database , so there is no way they will come to know of this pages and no way they will be indexed unless Google bot goes out of the way to access each and every individual server that hosts any thing online. And once Google has it we have it.

 

Google bot has two types, The deep bot and the fresh bot. The deep bot will do the whole indexing together with words and sentences in your articles, pages and blogs once a month. Given that the number of pages is increasing exponentially every day and the number of people spamdexing deep bot  has to be really strike a balance between speed and correct indexing.

 

There is also a Fresh bot which will cater to the needs of immediate indexing of the recently added pages.

Currently webmasters complain about the google bot clogging the badwidth with their crawling ( one too many times ) .You can actually change the settings using a Webmaster Tools setting for the crawler on your website .

Is the Google Sandbox a myth

Since 2004 , people have experienced a slowdown in the new sites getting or rising to popularity in the SERP’s

 

Serps are search engine result pages. With some amount of time spent on line you will definitely come across this term of Google Sandbox . Unfortunately we don’t have any direct evidence linking to that. What happens is that Google has not allowed any one to buy hundreds of links and do backlinking there sites to generate extra revenue. Also that the fact that in the competitive environments with multiple sites vying with the same keyword some body with existing popularity will not be forsaken for the new one with a high density keyword content.  The period for which they will keep your site in the probationary areas before they allow your results to be on top may be 1 month to 6 months.

 

All the make you rich quickly and be rich in minutes sites have not been able to garner any interest since all the claims about increasing your adsense income in about hours is a good as the cleaning Indian Politics in weeks.

So don’t worry about making money the quick way , because no matter what you do the Google guys have thought it and planned it all well for you. If you have a dedicated following and a blog that is laser focused you may be entering a better chance of becoming visible.

 

With highly competing keywords in your site , you make it more difficult to enter the foray. It seems that technorati it self is getting request to  add 200 000 blogs a day . I mean new blogs. I was one of the new ones in the last week. The web is a huge place . We need to have proper data about the kind of people we want to have as our readers and then we need to be honest with our dealings with them. Patience and Honesty is one game Google will teach us  and if not by command by the power of money.

 

If you were to research further and look at what Wiki pedia has to say about google sandbox , you will find that it is a theory that webmasters have developed over the years to explain the phenomenon that whereas Amazon and Yahoo are showing their web pages in the results Google has somehow kept your pages away from their SERP’s

Interesting story about google bloggers

There are a lot of people out there wanting to blog or rather make money out of it , though most of my latest post have been solely related to Adsense and its affiliated success and failure stories. I think that there is a lot of out of google research work on going to get a thorough understanding about the way it works,

A friend of mine recently made a lot of money because other than work the only thing that he could write about without doing much research was philosophy , and all he did was write as much as possible about the troubles an Indian student faces abroad, The way his life is changed,

I think if you have come up to this point in the blog , you will be sharing a same passion as mine which is to blog as much as possible, but trust me dear friend it is difficult with the current job profiles demanding so many hours of work from each individual that other hobbies and passion have take a side step. There are many who will believe in painting , singing and dancing, For that to happen , for art to flow we need to have that eternal trouble as an Indian kid at the back of our heads. The over burdening of the elder kid in the family and the pressures of the younger ones will always keep you on your toes to make some money from your hobbies and if they dont pay off, you will rather not go into something as time usurping as your hobby.
