Some site for GMAT training

I know after you have gone through all the procedure, you feel a real winner but trust me , any work you do has a perfect ladder that goes up the management ladder in a single straight line as the crow flies.

There is always one way up, then there is some luck and some contacts, something you call you our personal relationships and something you get from your environment.

Well, all this things mixed and there you are ,

Still, if you need some material to study for GMAT, ( I mean some of you are really serious about printed leaves, here is a link )

Agartala on radar

Little did I think that somebody would target a small town like ours , situated in the far east of this country ,

Also called themselves the seven sisters, the step sisters so as to the feelings in side. We never thought about getting caught in this trap of mans vicious image of religion.

The news articles are misleading and some of the sites are really taking a lot of time to download,

The Agartala blasts rocked the town sometime around 7:50 in the evening today ( October 1st , 2008 ) .  With the Durga Pujas just knocking on the doors, and coming Monday being the first of the auspicious days , people have been on a marketing spree for to get hold of the last minute goodies. Near about 8:00 pm being a prime time for the town shopping culture, the terrorists were pretty clear about indicating their intentions. All the four points, Radhanagar bust depot, Golbazar ( the first to get affected ) , Shyamoli Bazar and Palace grounds were targeted during the busiest times of the day,

All the phone networks ( which anyway remain busy during this time of the evening are now jammed to a deadlock.

My father was supposed to reach the town sometime today and we had a scary time trying to get some news. Anyway, he reached there after the blasts and is safe,

Agartala is an unique town where everybody almost knows every other body . And it is difficult to imagine such a dastardly act at this time of the year. I am afraid about the Durga Pujas in Kolkata.

By the way, the problem with Indian media is , it really shows that life in India has not worth even a correct media report,

The editor I am sure frowns upon one or two deaths, They want bigger numbers, One channel shows 76 injured, one shows, 100 injured,

Some say no one died, some say 1 died and some say two, The correct reports will be available sometime tomorrow. Till then , let me try and keep this page posted as much as possible.

The blasts were of low intensity but having stayed in Agartala for about 18 years of my life I can tell you that the target areas chosen were some of the most crowded of all in this time of the day and year.

That explains the high number of injured people.

Yamini in Splitsvilla

Well,

This girl was carefully placed in this whole plot where most of the girls are models and represent the forefront of modern day women in the making for India.

Yamini is a the whiff of freshness that one demands from a show like this. I don’t know where Bosky stands apart from the fact that yes, she definitely can run a business , not all men understand the fact there exists something called love. But some realize that yes a bonding can come with staying together and let us go for it in expectation that a happily married life might be there in store for us.

Bosky will be the ideal companion for somebody who wants a wife who can wield a storm or two when it comes, and not somebody who will break up often and expect you to be there all the time.  Heena stays low apart from the fact that she is there for a purpose just like others and wooing the boys definitely is not their go,

I don’t think Raghu is happy with the outcome other than the fact that he now own 1% of the MTV output, so that makes him more answerable for a show which can actually fire of the explosive any time soon

Minakshi Khanduri

There is something about this particular girl in Splitsvilla,

http://mtvroadies.xaapa.com/glamour/category/dumped-girls-reactions/minakshi-khanduri/

She was slowly sliding out of the show more so because she wanted it. I know that the guys out there are trying to make a decision that they don’t give a rats tail worth of value ,but there is something about Minakshi that tells me that she will make it big , whether here in media or in any other field. She is so cool about her getting dumped.

She is hot and has the latina color with Indian looks, and also is sexy to the core and sweet face. All the things that goddess of the fabled mythology could touch . Well, Since I am committed I am not supposed to talk like this about another lady , but I think it will be a unfair on my part to not show the world how a girl is ought to be praised if need be.

I think  if Minakshi wanted to stay it would have been very difficult for the others , definitely. She did not show any attempt to stay , may be her script was that way , but whatever it is you definitely left indelible marks on me somewhere.

Good girl, and have the merit to be a top femme. Good luck

Olympics for 2016

Thats it,
Not in my youth will I see India rise up to the occasion and host the Olympics. Already the finalists for the 2016 Olympics have been decided and India does not figure in that.

India gets compared with China all the time, but art ( whether martial or literature or music ) , sports, development , human right movements have never been more convincing more in Chinas history as it is now. It can boast of more development now than any time in its history. This year with 65 more days to go for the Beijing Olympics, I got a stunner that I will not be able to tell people that see India is hosting the Olympics till I am 33 atleast.

I have never thought about leaving the country for other opportunities, but one deos grow up to see the misfortune of getting born in a country like India, To see the luck you got to be a powerful man. Yes, Spiritually this country is vibrant, with rampant myths of the far Himalayas ( recently I heard the Steve Jobs was here in the mountains for the east , in search of greater truths ) .
Yes, India makes you search inside, but currently I dont think the times are like that, our country is now a breeding ground for all material seeking than ever before.
The youth of India asks itself everyday, "Did we commit some kind of crime in taking my birth in India". There is no proper system anywhere, there are no rules, there is complete chaos.
Had there been a sweetness in this marriage of the youth to this nation , things would have been better, but with communal clashes and sectarian violence on the increase and youth being increasingly looked down upon , with Americans waiting on us to work our asses apart to keep them happy ( I am talking of average Indians, if you believe you have a choice , I am sorry I am not talking about you ) . The youth of this country is increasingly finding himself at a loss.

He cannot dream of privacy , of isolation, of independence from the clutches of the society that does not deserve it. Too much demand all the time with a country turning towards something that no one knows the truth about with a surity.

To you this might sound like gibberish but to be in the same shoes as the Indian youth , you got to keep your eyes, ears and mouth shut.
You cannot raise you voice, You cannot see the beauty and luxury the planet earth provides, since that is not there for the Indian youth.
Trust me when I say , we are labour for cheap.

All that hoopla

BBC world news

And you will get is Barrack Obama, Hillary Rodham Clinton.

After months of campaigning ( paining ) they have finally decided that the Democratic candidate will be Barrack Obama,

Many of my friends still believe that all the hype ( without getting Tandoori Chicken and hundred rupee notes ) is only possible in the presidential elections in the United States,

Nope it is just the fight to get the candidature to fight in the elections against the Republican candidate John Mc Cain. Now trust me this is going to be one hell of a presidential term for the Indians in United States. US has slowly realized that Indians have been fooling them over the years, they way they had taken talent has now stopped and the H1 s are soon becoming filled with junk. Last time I went for my Business Visit Visa in the Chennai Consulate, I met these guys who had fake salary slips that show a salary about 24 lakhs per annum ( which is one measure of a man who must be too good be earning that kind of slip in India )

But my question is no sane person with that kind of salary would stand like a dog in front of the Consulate. It is time that they realize it is time to invite the best and not make them stand in line begging for a chance to see the American dream.

It is not that good fellas, All the Bollywood  and now Hollywood movies ( Namesake ) are based on that theme.  It is time to Brain storage and not Brain drain ( a serious question is what are we doing with the brain we have in store now ) .

Now that the results are out , I feel happy that BBC will have some thing else to show for the next few days unless the bigger fight starts ( but Hillary is not stepping down ) That is sad.

I also found the following piece of info that John McCain was taken prisoner by the Vietcong and was kept there for 6 years. He must have old memories of this region. And 15 % of the Americans believe that Barrack is a Muslim. Either way they get  one Black guy to be near to the chance of winning the presidential elections.

Interesting article abour rents in US

You may not be bothered about the real estate boom and crash in United States,

For the last few years the unhealthy and unprecedented growth of flats and their asset values in the Indian markets was of a surprise to me.

Look the following comments

"What you had was dramatically overheated markets where people overextended themselves to buy overvalued properties and they used risky loans to get those properties," Sharga said.

This comes from a cnn article, http://www.cnn.com/2008/LIVING/wayoflife/05/28/renters.booted/index.html?iref=mpstoryview

This is what has happened in most of the Indian towns, many people have bought houses and flats in dreams of getting great returns, but as you can see that already areas in the United States, with far more immigrant populations like California and Arizona , Florida and Nevada are suffering due this.

Isnt that what has happened with places like Bangalore  , Hyderabad  , Delhi and even Mumbai ,

Last week I was reading one of the leading fortnightly publications,. IT was ridiculous that people are not able to buy houses in the country so they travel all the way to Dubai and Sharjah which are two to three hours by flight for most people in India. They buy land there and it seems land there is much more affordable.

You will find people buying flats for 1 crore. 1 crore is as much as 250000 dollars, that is like the worst of devaluation of money. If you are planning to buy some land as investment, that will always benefit you or the next generation in the long run, in terms of property holdings or starting a business or sharing wealth with a promoter.

But what happened in the last few years was good for the new comers in the industry not for all the later ones who had a dream to make it big. Real estate will happen in India for the next many years, but without the government measures to make life easier for people buying apartments you will not see young employees taking the plunge.

People are more scared about taking a flat than the marriage vows since it means a commitment for 20 years with all the important years of your life gone to make a small house or a pigeon hole that too for the benefit of a generation that you don’t know whether it will grow to even give you a glance .

Bangalore airport

I was lucky to be on  a flight to Bangalore the very first day of its opening.

There are some thing small and big that I liked about the day yesterday  . First of all the departures section for Hyderabad airport has a similar interface like the airports in San Francisco. I travelled in a Air India flight to Sharjah, ( the usual people being of the worker class , who are working day and nights in the middles east to get a savings of 20-25 thousand a month depending on their expenditure,

That actually  is less in terms of savings in a country like United States or Canada. And now in the Indian perspective for a software engineers in well placed positions that actually is a reality. Thanks to the boom in the last years. Well, I had to declare some customs forms and boarded the old Air Bus . The service was ok and I managed to reach Bangalore airport in about 45 minutes,

The landing was rough and the interesting thing was I did not get to see a sea of lights that you usually see when you land in places like Delhi , or Mumbai ,

I realized it later that the place where the new airport is far off from the city. It seems it takes 7 kilometers of driving to reach the main road at least. God forbid somebodys car breaking down there. And then from the main road you get to driver about 30 km before you reach any part of Bangalore

The roads are very wide and there are guards or railing on each side of the road. There actually 4 roads, the internal two being the road to Hyderabad, It is visible for about 10 kilometers.

Well coming to the airport, the air bridge took some time to get connected . I don’t blame anybody ,even the pilot reminded us of the situation there. We then came down to the Baggage claim area, since it was a domestic one, we had to come down using the right wing, which took us to baggage claim belts 1-5. The international luggage it seems will be put in the belts 6 and 7 . The 7th on being along serpentine one with two rows.

The new airport officials did not expect domestic passengers in the international flights, so though the luggage it seems was displayed to be on the belt 7 we were sent to the domestic ones. Soon we try to get some approach to the belt 7 which it seems is not connected with the domestic belts. One thing I would like to mention here was , that some senior personal did ask me what was wrong when I hurried and scurried through the crowd. There was some confusion.

Then we waited in the international wing for some time , with other stranded passengers from Srilanka , after some time they displayed that the luggage will be conveyed in the domestic side and we moved back after a lot of haggling with the security people about it. Finally, we got the luggage and came out to the meeting point. This one is just like Newark ad may be even bigger Only that it did not have multiple levels like San Francisco.

I found out that there is a cab line, and shuttle service, with prices ranging between , 80 -200 . In the cab it was 60 rs waiting and 15 rs per km . That is something I paid in Delhi too. So it was ok. We came out to the grand Foyer, There was a giant Luis Vitton Bag out there, They are opening a  shop somewhere in Bangalore it seems. When I say giant I really mean Giant. When Rajpal Yadav talks about Khali, he uses the giant in the same context that I am doing here.

Well, it started to rain and it seems that the cars were all stranded on  the road and it was difficult to get cabs. We stood in the line in about hundreds, Those who were able to cross to the other side for the buses boarded them and took off .

For me I had to wait for about an hour and a half.

In spite of all this , what I found finally was no body was complaining . Every body was happy, If you have a good infrastructure, even the uneducated followed the rules, If 90% are doing the rest 10 % of the trouble makers don’t dare noise. Some were over smart they wanted to jump the line and get some cab ahead, the guys managing the queues did really well in bringing these guys to justice. Not always will you have the mental energy to ask some queue escaper the right way. Not always do you have that kind of mood.

Somebody has to do it authoritatively . In all this ruckus, no body complained. No body cried a single howl as to the airport or to any of its staff. It was all happiness. I could see people happy. Café Coffee day opened a small eatery there. Soon it will become a international brand. If it opens its IPO I will buy it.

I was happy.  One guy told me that he is ready to go through the experience again only to see everybody happy. This is the birth of a new generation. The generation of hope. We too have world class things, we will no longer be looked down upon.

We as a nation may have something to say . May be.

How Indians are taking over

How the nation of a billion people plus will rise. There are millions abroad in all other countries. It is not like viral fever we don’t go over and make people suffer as we are portrayed. We go out in search of a living , a better living. We go out in  and do symbiotic life. We do work for cheap , live 6 people in one living room.

Never take a holiday and produce a new laborer every few years. Sorry it sounds bad , it sounds bad because you are well educated ( I presume since you are having a net connection and are so bored of mails and chats that you find time and interest in a blog like mine ) .

Yes it sounds bad because , life of to you has a different meaning and you don’t want to pursue some thing that is already there . You don’t want to become like your father or your uncle who spent all there lives just in the hunt to make small house in the suburbs. Some spent it trying to get a flat somewhere outside.

Yes life is different for you but the Indian who could just manage to go to a foreign land it is captivity in a open jail. Half the time they don’t understand the laws there, the culture is impenetrable for the non whites. The medicals are costly, you prefer to be declared healthy even though you may be having a burning hot fever inside. I write here from personal interviews of people in Canada , New York and California.

They don’t take anything lightly any more, for them they have been split. It is like the partition happening to their personal lives everyday , but hopefully they were able to provide a good life to their next generation ( but only if their kids grew up in India )

We always consider the money to our childhood pocket money. I still think that if I could manage with 3000 In college today the money I am getting is a multiple of that by many times. But the appetite has changed, and even dollars cannot appease it.

So it was time for the Indians left here and ones with too fat a ego to goto a foreign land and start from the bottom of the ladder .  These guys , kept doing their jobs, and the only thing they wanted from their kids is good marks in school and a better paying job.
This story is the commonest of all. They all are doing it . India is a poor country , yes but the total number of skilled people in India far exceeds the total population of the United States, UK does not even stand a chance.

For feeding  200 million people United States have usurped all the resources that they could get hold of, We now produce more doctors, engineers and skilled people than any other country, ‘

PhD ‘s were difficult some time back since students had to start earning asap but now with more prosperous families giving their children a backing and the parents taking care of the kids till late 20 ‘s we have people who are ready to do doctorates American universities ( we save a lot of money that way ) . These increases the scope of research for America as well as India, but don’t think we are ignorant of thee ideas, We too are starting research labs in India, companies like prajay and Biocon which have their RnD here in India are slowly proving the point that if an Indian can perform well in United States, they will do it in India as well, just give him the right kind of resources ,

Indian men from prosperous middle class are marrying whites, We are honest and if good looks go with it, take my prediction that slowly Indian men will marry more foreigners than any other country,

Impressions about us are changing slowly, and we need to carry this forward. We are a country where every student believes that no matter what you do , be educated and be learned, You will live a better life.

Retailers are not affecting small buisnesses in India

People say that India is not a hub of entrepreneurs, I would heavily deny it.

WE all know hundreds of people around us, who as dynamic as anybody else. I see of general stores owners in India who are so adept in the basic management fundas that they don’t need to go to any MBA institute to get their things done.

There are a lot of people out there who run small businesses.

The visualization of entrepreneurs has always been to make it big. That happens in a economy like America where very few people do  really get a chance to start something new. Working for a place like Walmart, target, Macys, Costco Frys is all they would know, Since starting a business competing against these giants not a possibility.

These big guys will come down upon them heavily and the loss will be unbearable for the small guys. And that is one flaming example of the capitalist world and India when it is rising today has every chance of reading, studying and finding out what the mistakes of the past were. We can learn from America . It is a sorry thing that our earlier generation and to an extent even our todays generation is suffering in terms of enjoying all the benefits of the developed nations but slowly we need to find out what were the mistakes of the last century which made America where it is today.

Small retailers will never  be out of the bargain. We will always have them running. I remember seeing some small door to door stores in Queens in New York, they definitely talk in volumes that given a multicultural society you got to have choices. These malls in India are some examples of places where you will find loads of people who are visitors, but this will not last for long. Slowly people will turn their heads to something more useful.  Being an Indian you always get to compare stuff. You always get to see options, you get to see the best and the average always,

With retailers you have a good air conditioned room where you don’t need to fight the crowd , the sweat and you have lots of choices,  But every Indian of this generation will not mould himself to these retailers completely.

Some of the small shops are doing well even in the towns where there are big retailers.  With Walmart growing every year we are sure that no matter what people will buy their basic stuff all the time.  We used have the Sunday mart , and now we have Sunday malls, Man did not change , so business will not change

But in India the chance to do a small bargain once in a while does give a buyer some thing to look forward too

Star Ananda

CPM has lost 4 zillas this time ( May2008 Panchayat Election )

There are hundreds of explanations as to how they stay afloat in the state. Though it seems reports are coming that last election they had told the local illeterates that the fisrt button they press in the Electronic Ballot boxes to test whether that is working or not. But  that was the one that is supposed to register the vote and that is it, Everybody voted them.

Some people say that when the testing was going on , people tested the boxes by pressing the buttons some 10-15 times, but they carefully set the internals to  work only for them after 300 presses, So it goes .

The democratic country has come to a stage where it does not matter how many scams get caught, How many people are exposed on TV. WE have seen politicians rather boasting about their jail trips. It is not the time for political martyrdom,  it is the time to encash your social networking skills in side jail.

They get to meet their close and near and dear ones. One might not be surprised to see two old friends spending some nice time in the jails in India.

They look forward to it sometimes.

Nareepol tree

I have no idea about the same. Though the hoax slayer site did not have much either. Looks like some adds in it more than anything else.

In any case for curious onlookers these are the pics
