Ban Back again

Ban , was at his best the other, day ,

I have been writing about for quite sometime , Now after the Bangalore, And Ahmedabad Blasts that rocked india this weekend, he believes that if ever the terrorists are to be tamed down, they might have to be given a job and the best job in offer will be that of the poor software engineers, under a American management full of Indians again,

I am seriously starting to consider that yes, people or the terrorist mastermind who can actually make people die over the justification that after death things will be nice, can do anything with that team in software.

They can tell,

“If you do this and this, and suffer in the process, nightouts here and there, work over the weekends, 5 times a day you give me reports, and if you also bring other people in the process , you will be rewarded some time in future”

Don’t you think people who can motivate others to die can do wonders in the industry ?

Wow, we already have too many boys from South India in the industry who will spend day and night in office, since they usually don’t have anything else in life to do .They will have a tough fight from this surrendered Jihadis in the software industry,

Ban rocks

Software , is there any art involved

I don’t know whether I am qualified enough to consider myself someone who can or should speak about this topic.

But yes, I know for sure that any revolution that starts, it takes years to materialize. The revolution that we know as renaissance, were never known to be a organized event in history, they happened over a period  of 300- 400 years and the artists towards the end earned more laurels, since the movement had by then come towards its pinnacle.

That is the truth of it all,

Software writing, started in the last 50 years, we are still in the middle of this movement , we still don’t have the best tools and optimum tools for software development. Compilers still take a lot of time to compile, Writing code still involves knowing a lot of stuff before hand and you have to follow hundreds of rules, debugging sometimes takes a hell lot of time.

Once we have broken these barriers, we will roughly enter a stage where development of software will not be the main problem but the quality that it has will be the main concern.  I believe that this is the time, when still a lot has to be time and there is a lot of distance to go before the real fun to software development happens.

Through this blog though it is very difficult o express always a software engineer feels or goes through in daily life, but once you have conquered all the intricacies of a tool that you are working on it becomes easier for you to work on it, and then all that you are concerned is about the next level.

Some more acidity related diets

  • Eat three small meals and three snacks evenly spaced throughout the day. It is important to avoid periods of hunger or overeating.
  • Eat slowly and chew foods well.
  • Be relaxed at mealtime.
  • Sit up while eating and for 1 hour afterward.
  • Avoid eating within 3 hours before bedtime. Bedtime snacks can cause gastric acid secretion during the night.
  • Cut down on caffeine-containing foods and beverages, citrus and tomato products, and chocolate if these foods cause discomfort.
  • Include a good source of protein (milk, meat, egg, cheese, etc.) at each meal and snack.
  • Antacids should be taken in the prescribed dose, One-hour and 3 hours after meals and prior to bedtime. This regimen is most likely to keep the acidity of the stomach at the most stable and lowest level.
  • Milk and cream feedings should not be used as antacid therapy. Although milk protein has an initial neutralizing effect on gastric acid, it is also a very potent stimulator. Hourly feedings of milk have been shown to produce a lower pH than three regular meals.
  • Caffeine-containing beverages (coffee, tea, and cola drinks) and decaffeinated coffee cause increased gastric acid production but may be taken in moderation at or near mealtime, if tolerated.

Reading about acidity I found this

"FOODS TO AVOID Very few of us know that pleomorphic bacteria, yeast and fungus and their toxins are characteristically present in stored and fermented food. The following list of foods are high in pleomorphic bacteria, yeast, fungus and mould, and produce mycotoxins which cause specific diseases and should never be eaten. The problem is excess sugar. Grape juice and grapefruit juice are a little different. ... Apples, oranges, pears and bananas are more likely to be fermented. The banana get liver spots the same way you get liver spots, through excess fermentation and rotting. If you have spots on your hands, face or arms, if you have moles, these are toxins coming to the surface of the skin. These are acids. This is a manifestation of the one sickness. You have to change the inner terrain, and if you do, these spots will either disappear or change in colour.

FOOD YOU SHOULD EAT: ALKALINIZING FOODS We need to eat foods which will actually heal the body. We need to go back to the garden and eat live foods like leafy greens, foods which are high in chlorophyll. For breakfast I eat salad, for lunch I eat salad, and for dinner I have salad. What is good for dinner is also good for lunch, and what is good for lunch is good for breakfast. You have to overalkalize the blood and tissues. You can freely eat dark green and yellow vegetables, root vegetables, freshly juiced vegetable juices, foods with high contents of chlorophyll, nuts like almonds or hazelnuts which are more alkaline. Almonds are high in oxygen especially after they have been soaked for 12 hours. Sprouted grains and beans like alfalfa, mung beans, clover and radish, seeds, essential fatty acids from flax oil, borage oil, and virgin olive oil, soy products like tofu, grains from spelt, millet and buckwheat, herbs, spices, seaweed, lots of onions and garlic and distilled water. Fruits like avocados, lemons, limes and grapefruits are low sugar, therefore less likely to be fermented."

What do you think as to its validity?

Bananas have been one of my main foods.

Twitter did good job

All this while people were worried about there relatives during the terror weekend that India witnessed, it seems that the silicon valley responded well in its own stride.

Blogs were on all the time that talked about the frustrations people have over Indian intelligence, some wrote about safety measures, some wrote about the names of the people.

Some collected as much data as possible and tried to filter the genuine ones.

Some wrote about their own neighboring area and any news about those injured. Some wrote about how the Bangalore police websites being blank all the while.

All in all, I  should say , this country still relies on the individualistic approaches and there is no combined force acting out here.

Travails of Indian Software Engineer

Well,

If you think you are a software engineer by working in a head count company that believes in hiring coochies to get some of the real software engineers to marry within the company, I am not talking about you .

I am talking about those software  engineers who think they are doing great in life by having enough to spend on a Cappuccino in a Barista or CCD everyday ,

They think that any restaurant in the city to be  there area of expertise and that they are going to get the best girl in town since, they are young, earn well, and somewhat jazzy ( because the Tshirt is of Reebok, the pants from Levis and they have Pulsar 180 )

You know what they got iPods too. Wow, shrieks one girl and the HTC touch comes out from his pocket. This Bhattacharjee knows his way in most of the airports in the country, knows how to behave in a smart café and pays his bills always.

This Bhaskaran also saves a lot , and just like his friend Subbu, has invested in the smart Blue chips. The next cubicle Satish is going to buy a 1000 sq ft flat soon . Satish is senior though, he has worked abroad for a few months. But he was working in those  coochie  coo companies, that hire for… ( read the first line )

There is one girl in this whole floor, who in her outlook calendar has marked days on which to go out with whom. Her friends always wondered how could she  always save so much, She always travelled by flight. I mean “ Who travels in flight now yaa !! “

“They should get  super fast trains man”, shouts Chatterjee, being in Bangalore, it take 36 hours to Kolkata, and since most of them actually stay away from Kolkata, like Siliguri, or Asansol, or Jalpaiguri, they have to travel even further. They all want the fast trains. The guy from Chennai is very happy with his 5 -6 hours drop home.

Mr Biswas, has been in the industry for long and has now started to resemble a government job employee . More so because his work has increased with salary. With management job he is now looking like a poor man with no time for family. New comer assholes who don’t have any aspiration in life other than reaching office early in the morning and leave late in the night will make his life difficult.  His American management which is again made up of Indians will drill him in and out everyday.

He wakes up early in the morning after his so called American Indian bosses had kept a late night meeting for him.Mostly his kids wake him up since they want to go to school, since there is nothing to do at home with no gardens or parks to play and the electricity in Bangalore is cut all day. It is getting used in other important places like the CMs residence.  He takes them to school after suffering the road traffic. They have long stopped marketing for vegetables in the mornings everyday . They have bought a huge refrigerator where they can store vegetables for a month , that they buy from foodworld. He comes to office loaded with work and leaves office with double the load. His wife is seriously contemplating marrying again, at least an affair .

Mr Gupta, who is among the few Banyas here, believes in smart life, he wants to hop and hop and hop like a rabbit throughout his life. He believes in going to the competition for double salary,

That just raises his standard, he believes only in great salaries and nothing else. He believes that he will hop all his life. He calculated the number of companies he wants to be in in his lifetime. He finds life short in that he would not have seen enough if he hops every two years for the next 30 years of his life, having only seen 25 odd companies.

He is really sad about it!

The two Reddys are contemplating the dowry they want, since one of them has gone to US once ,he was raising his dowry by 50 lakhs , The other Reddy did not look happy about it,

Though they don’t talk with the other Reddy in office, who believes in buying another Skoda , a purple one , since he is tired to bringing one of the two Skodas he already has ( the golden one we call Scaramanga and the one we call Cowdung <you know why> ). His father has some buildings in Hyderabad which he rents out at 19 k each . He is giving a discount of 1 k since there is no proper water supply for the building.

The Deswal of our office, a big hunk , believes that all girls are swooning upon him all the time and dresses for a fancy dress competition. His friends from Haryana have a huge concern for the elongation of virgin days.

The other Chatterjee in our office, who chattered all the way through his “Larki dekhing ceremony” has lost his last chance of marrying this year, since he has exhausted his leaves . All of them were spent hurrying home to see a girl , who he thinks should look like Cameron Diaz in The Mask and the body of Heidi Klum but should be waiting for him at home all day. Should get him home finally to a clean bathroom and a tidy kitchen.

The girl on the other hand was expecting a man much younger, and just like Om Kapoor in Dard e Disco . A 12 pack and not a 6 pack will do anymore, since there are many software engineers that come every other day to see her. Her aunty in United States  has also been talking about some cardiologist in New York, who is handsome and looks like a foreigner ( who will tell her that, he is Indian only by parents ).

This time it seems the girl was specific about his onsite opportunities, and it was difficult for Chatterjee to explain how his holistic approach to life keeps him in India . How his work is of the tougher nature and that it involves better career opportunities in future.

Joseph the smart Mallu is very happy with life, he gets to go home as soon as possible and there awaits his girlfriend who is soon going to be in Bangalore to study. That will be one hell of a life , he is happy with job, and soon of his friends in New Zealand will sponsor him and tata he will say to our manager and leave India for ever with his girlfriend. He has too many brothers and their parents will be taken care of.

Mr De and Mr Mukherjee are talking about the sad state of affairs of Kolkata, half the day they spend on how to get Kolkata developed, They really are in to development and not testing I say.

Mr Bhadreswaran is tired of seeing his friends going abroad on onsite opportunities and also his CTC, he thinks he deserves to save more and that the guys he used to teach maths in school and college are now abroad earning and saving and coming back to India to show off, whereas he could not afford one nights stay in a five star within India.

He has started to preach philosophy nowadays. He cannot leave this job since he believes that staying in one place will land you a better package and a lot of experience. He has started to know each and every square inch of the office carpet. Even the security guys have all changed since his arrival. The other day one security guy stopped him and asked for his id card and boy that was one scene that we all will remember .

Finally, there are some software engineers who are in the IT department, who think boozing everyday makes them cool, and they know all the pubs in the town and they come and tell us of the horrors of all these pubs which have become gay hangouts since no girls visit those, and how the one where no stags allowed make them feel like stray dogs.

These guys think that there lives are pretty happening and we all yearn for them to include us once in a while, “Sorry not yappening, there is not just time for it all. “

The sad story of the Indian Softie

There are so many ongoing things in the Indian cultural setup that it is too difficult to put just on picture up. This is the year 2008. We have just been hit by the fact that a growing nation if not planned at the top level will soon tumble on its own growth demands.

India is growing, yes, there is a visible feeling all across. There are people coming to India to witness this. There are so many second tier towns growing up to become full fledged cities. There are too many Indians who have been abroad for at least once in their lives. A young crowd that starts slowly antagonizing itself with the fact that India has a lot to go . This young crowd goes abroad and realizes that a developed country is developed in terms of so many things.  It is not only a bunch of concrete structures, the country side, the small town ships , the so called villages.  They really do look like what they show on television. The movies will be always  shot there in this lifetime of ours

I am 25 and I am just not able to cope up with the fact that being an Indian I am just supposed to suffer.  I know I am supposed to be patriotic and give India time, but for how long, it is like languishing and expecting my lawyer to have some time for me to fight my  case rather than the rich.

I am 25 , I have done good in life in terms of academia , and also , somewhat prosperous than my other friends with whom I started with from a school in a small town in India. I was increasingly told about the smart town kids and metros. How being a small town guy , you are supposed to fight it out throughout your lives.

Now I have grown up to be as good as any big town guy, but in the process I had to go through so many years of hard work in school , ( the physics that will never do me any good, the integration and derivation will never feed me , )  , those years in college, where we did nothing, why , the education system is something I will never be proud of. Once upon a time a village only saw the best student turn out to be a  master . The village school master , as we called it. Today, times have changed . Students who don’t get any job in some American company , or some high flying MNC, or at least a meager job somewhere in a small town will end up becoming a lecturer.

I have even seen some guys ending up teaching only to be in touch with the girls they cannot meet in work places.  They seriously believe that a teachers job makes you a Casanova.

I am 25 and I am supposed to still believe in the strength of good character and patience and give life a chance. I already see that I am far from teenage and that the golden days will never come. Being a good student you are supposed to never enjoy life. I have slowly started to believe that the country has some ideological differences setup by the current moral beliefs. “A child to be fed by his parents “

Many parents will either spend all their living on a child expecting him or her to grow up fast and give them what they missed. That way some of them end up being frustrated with lives seeing their child not living up to their expectations . Some who will make out one moderate success will kill that childs youth trying to do for his other siblings.
The society with dowry system to give away for the daughter, makes this childs life even more difficult. They end up frustrated with their own lives.

When I was in college I believed that everything is possible, yes now I know the meaning of the statement, “ Everything is possible “. No it is not, it is just not supposed to be so .

If I were to start I could end up writing hours and pages about what I believe the truth is. I may come tomorrow to this page , and pat my own back as to how much more enlightened I was right at this age. At 25 I am just not happy with whatever is going on.

Many parents on the other hand will earn all their lives sacrificing their  own youth and then expecting their children to have as much fun as it is possible. These are the spoiled kids. Not all rich children will act the same it is but those parents who themselves did not know that things could go out of control if let loose since all they knew as bitter hard work and putting their heads stuffed with work and money making that they forgot to notice how the world works.

Parents should take care till some age and leave it to their children. It is paying off for our country since many parents will make it a point to send their son money till he is done with his Phd. Though many don’t do it in India any more, they  go abroad.

We fill the American universities , but why, are many of us that passionate about studies, no but just  to get admission to that country. It is not the PhD we are after it is the Green Card.  Many of us don’t believe that 15 August 1947 was the independence day , but it is the day we enter America to be independence day,

All we want in our lives to reach that nation. Today , many will not say an yes to me . Why ? The person reading this article must be some one of the intellectual class and has been able to make somewhat decent living and believes that by not going to America, you are showing you patriotism.

Well, I say , that we are not doing any good to this nation by staying back, For so many years, the exodus was all that mattered to this nation. Every body looked up to it and thus people went abroad, especially to America. The ones that could not, went everywhere else. Some went to Europe, and some to Australia.

Many are there in England. Trust me, they are even there in some island that you can blindly point out in the Pacific. We poor guys, we will even go to Afghanistan to work. Why ?

Because there are no opportunities here! And we don’t play fair. One MNC in Kolkata allows the richs mans son to do his internship leaving the good applications away, One College in Bangalore will allow the local politicians nephew to be a lecturer. And lets not talk about the other gashes caused in the last few years.

Why me? Is one question many ask. Well there is no better answer than Karma of the Hindi beliefs and yes, I have tried to search for another, Nothing else did sound as logical like Karma.

But it is not the question of Why me? It is the question of Why my nation ?

Why it is India, that is such a dump hole of problems.

There has to be a smart solution to this all. Reaching office itself is such a tiring thing in India, how do expect some one to go and work there. Long time back when I was a child I had seen one such program on DD. One man whose wife was in labor had to drop everything and get his job done so that his senior could attend on party. The child was born still, and he was fired for not having done his job properly.

That was the kind of slavery the Indians have gone through in the previous generation. I am happy when In compare my situation today  , but there is one thing that makes me feel sad that, though we all are in the positive mood most of the time about the coming days,

We are just a one billion strong bunch of optimists who will be let down. Whether it is development, whether it is growth, whether it is sports, whether it is technology,

Sorry, I just cannot accept it. You cannot chose a mother do you and once you are born to India it becomes your mother land, that is one sentence that you have serve, that is it!

How does this country grow, how can somebody like me who is all set to make some changes start , and be sure that he will not be let down by the system. I know, I that I am not supposed to blame the system. You should get into it, make sacrifices. Blah blah,

Make sacrifices, why me?  For that you need to be like Hanuman, no wives, no kids, and no worries for your parents.  For sacrifices, you need to be like Howard Roark from Fountainhead. You need to be free from worries and then you can do great . That is what I strongly believe. Somebody with responsibilities just cannot.

There was this political party started by the IITian in Chennai , Why do you think they broke up ?

Politics plays with dirty money. They can play in 100s of crores, the kind of money that could give you a good life in any of the major holiday spots of the world. That is the truth , the blatant truth is money can buy anything,

Yes, I have not been able to enjoy a decent holiday in the last 3 years of my working life and with rising inflation and the country not delivering value of money concepts, I am slowly growing to the notion that in this life itself if I have to do more , see more, the either you got to be a genious, which I am not, seeing back at my track record.

I am a bit classier mediocre, who know what can be done with genious but myself I am not that . I am just  a simpleton who ended up getting a software job never to make anything from it. I know that there will be money when I retire since I am putting so and so in life insurances,

That being a good job holder I will end up marrying some body better than average looking  due to the social network of this country. I know that all these happen step by step and that I will have a kid someday,

Will have to pay donation for this school admissions, and most probably send him for GRE by the time he grows up.

And then finally shift to the flat that I would have made outside of the town in a small place to end up going jogging everyday morning, to exercise my aging body. Yes, that is the price of being a bit par average.

I am par average because I can think this way, I understand the spark of merit. If I were average I would have enjoyed the thought of the life written above. And I am not a genius because I really am not spending my time doing something great but write this story of the sad Software Engineer.

July 22 2008

All my plans for the Bengali magazine are still nascent, There are no contributors, yet, ( no perfect contributors) .

Still, the hope and the hunt is on. The weekends are getting spent silly on movies and food. This weekend we went to MTR, The mavalli tiffin room, which had in its days of yore hosted some of the best political dinner and lunch sabhas during the Raj and after that.

Now it continues to allure newcomers and travel channel hosts from all over the place. Discovery , TLC, NDTV Good times, and never mind DD . Yesterday , we had been to Crosswords on the Brigade road. I usually ended up finishing some book out there. IT was Subroto Bagchis autobiography. If  you were to ask me I would rather say , with the brothers he had, one a revolutionary turned  ascetic, one IAS officer , with both parents ant their parent having been dynamic people and a father and mother fighting blindness and mental illness. I should say he is one man who has weathered a lot of storms in his days.

I have increasingly started to believe that in todays world, suffering is the only way out to achieve something while you are alive.

There are a lot of problems and we attack them only when we are in our comfort zone, but never to be dynamic and never to take it head on. Escapists all around, and the way the current society drives you to become one. I have no idea where it is all going.

People like places like Bangalore, why , because away from the society they despise,  they think it is freedom, but stop there, coz soon you will need a societal life, Soon you will become part of the new society there, What will you do then?

You need to then enter society back and there again you go .

Wanted to put all the pictures we snapped in Bandipur

Here is one page where you can find some of the pictures in Bandipur

http://www.paragpaul.com/BandipurJatra.html

Try out some SEO

Nobody wants to learn the SEO the hard way,

http://netforbeginners.about.com/b/a/257391.htm

Look at this guy , he used the correct words in his site and that is it,

He used funnies blogs on the net and that is , whenever you search for the funniest blogs, you will get this one out there

Something to learn here folks

Patriotism

Well,

The other day we went for Kungfu Panda in Fame  Lido Bangalore, there they play the Jana Gana Mana, National Anthem in the beginning of the show.

I saw most the faces out there ,looking here and there and trying to hide their eyes from those,  who were sitting and did not consider it to be done that way,

Some were doing it since all their friends were standing,

Some were standing out there with a feeling that wow, the others might see my enthusiasm and think highly of me,

How many times do you talk great about Indian only in the expectation that yes the others will accept it , because, after movies like Chak De, Swadseh  and Rang De Basanti it is a must that you talk greatly of this nation. Otherwise you may be treated as an outcast. Deep down you know that there are problems , there bigger problems looming large.

Mind you ,

Most of these films did not show that we are great, Rang De Basanti , definitely smokes on rat out, we have just too much corruption in the top level.

Chak De says that how easy it is for us to generalize, even today , how difficult it is for us in this country, With not many people who will encourage you , there are just too many crabs out there,

Swades tells you as much, that how difficult a decision it is for somebody well settled in the US to come back to this country and do it.  Accept it or not many NRIs do demand some one like the Gayatri Joshi , to come back , if you know what I mean ( if most of the girls in your college have not been married to some NRI , you will not accept me though  ).

Well, that is the truth, be patriotic but not idealistic in the shadow of idealism

Why did we study ?

I don’t know why at all I should have studied in college, It seems that only the genius could make any use of it, Today after working for almost 3 years on a compiler I have come to understand and figure out some stuff that can help me in making compilers the way they need it today

Most of us learn or make use of that thing called a brain only once we come to the industry , Seldom do we learn anything that makes a great difference in the real life.

WE are constantly trying to do it only for the day, We have become too much of living only at the moment kind of people. I am not sure whether the statement that I am putting here is acceptable or not, but I feel that most of the college learning is actually sham in that there is no particular good coming out of it,

We don’t need no education , “nope I don’t want to go into that road either”

We need education so that we can read , we can read what others think, We need to know what the other person really thought of , back then and right now.

I see many of my friends who will not talk about cheap stuff ( things they consider cheap ) , or talk about the lack of girls in todays world. They think they are not acting cool that way, Who put that thought in their mind in the first, They have some images of kool people in the heads, where a boy is cool if he does not talks about the problems in the country, because they feel that people will not think  highly of them. They will not talk about the desperation in their lives, when they see some other guy with a good looking guy,

Why so , because somebody might think that they are depressed or are not cool enough to get a girl , These prejudices will kill the real man  , and all you get is a mask , a Halloween face, that hides the true guy inside you.

Finally googles new adsense units

With Chitika E minimalls it was getting difficult to woo customers for the adsense program for sometime.

Google has finally come up with new adsense units which are the long 5 unit ones 728 x 90 which is not liked by many as it is difficult to place in , but the other big video one it better,

So now online publishers who don’t want to do too much time on their websites sitting and trying to figure out whether or not to put videos on their site, I say that with faster broadband service available in most major towns of countries like ours , it should be easier to get

Comma

Is the process of getting into the work force of todays India a proper channel to direct the power of the youth.

I don’t think so , with too much money involved in the current day higher education , most of the youth cannot think of higher education anymore,

With colleges in India charging as much as any western counterpart without even having the facilities near to what any university in the developed countries provide I think this is sheer waste of time and money,

Money though is provided by the filthy rich in India and the mainly the one that let you generalize evil with prosperity in India. Time is wasted for the students and the good faculty if any, Though it sounds harsh , but yes there are very few passionate teachers,

Long back in the 1800s the best student in the village would turn out to become the master moshai or the mater babu of the village and if by chance some good heart turns to one of the villages it would be deemed as good luck and signs of development for the village, now the only thing is flight,

Everybody flies to the first possible scope to leave your place because nothing good can ever happen to it, leaving the rotten brains to take care of the place.  Kolkata is a flaming example where only the mediocre stays back, the ones that are good in studies would have bought a flat somewhere in Noida, Hyderabad or Bangalore and the less studious or the dynamic ones would have left it to go to a place where there can be more challenges to face and more risks to be taken,

The complete mediocrity if the town is visible in the town planning, the city management, the municipal decisions and the goons they feed,

It is a gunda raj in the happening because soon there will be an alarming scarcity of good brains in Kolkata and the back benchers that fill up the UPSC and the SSC seats will soon start taking decision of the macro kind and that is when doomsday will start

Yamini in Splitsvilla

Well,

This girl was carefully placed in this whole plot where most of the girls are models and represent the forefront of modern day women in the making for India.

Yamini is a the whiff of freshness that one demands from a show like this. I don’t know where Bosky stands apart from the fact that yes, she definitely can run a business , not all men understand the fact there exists something called love. But some realize that yes a bonding can come with staying together and let us go for it in expectation that a happily married life might be there in store for us.

Bosky will be the ideal companion for somebody who wants a wife who can wield a storm or two when it comes, and not somebody who will break up often and expect you to be there all the time.  Heena stays low apart from the fact that she is there for a purpose just like others and wooing the boys definitely is not their go,

I don’t think Raghu is happy with the outcome other than the fact that he now own 1% of the MTV output, so that makes him more answerable for a show which can actually fire of the explosive any time soon

Tintin in Thailand

“Tchang” that  sound that Tintin made when he sneezed in Tibet.

Well this guy turns out to be some stripteaser in a male  or gay bar in Thailand and Tintin enters the scene.

Jolyon Wagg has come to Thailand to do business but did not return leaving Georgette behind . Georgette who will later pay for Tintin and Haddocks trip to Thailand.

You will find the professor in the mood to do the swing too in this one.

Poorly illustrated, one of the fan fiction stories this one turns out to be the worst one ever. Well, there are others like Tintin in AlphArt. It does not need an ardent reader to find out that the pictures are not that well drawn and the Tintin we all love, has gone for good

I found some more of Tintin cartoons in scribd.com , You may search it there .

Some more informatio about Bengali magazines

I don’t know whether my dreams will come true or not but one of us has successfully run some editions for a online Bengali magazine, though the idea was initially to collect as many magazines as possible from all corners and then put it in one place, I believe which should be difficult given the individuality that any Bengali usually demands.

Ideas again

Time for some new ideas

I don’t know whether there is a possibility for this in the near future, but what about a channel that completely revolves around creativity,

The creativity channel,

About music, food, about movie making, about fashion , about origami, about martial arts, about guitars about publishers, about book writing , about cartooning, about journalism

We will interview people from the industry, about how to go ahead with your ideas, not in vague and abstract terms but solid and real life statements and everything put into word,

Mainly it will focus on creativity .

The creativity channel

Funny it is

Recently some senior employees from Microsoft were bought with triple their price tags into Channel V.

What is it about the current media. Entertainment is slowly growing and India will soon see major media Barons who make more money that any publisher or producer could have ever dreamed off.

http://mtvroadies.xaapa.com/glamour/2008/07/16/raghu-ram-opinion-about-shows-like-mtv-splitsvilla/

This is one of the articles in the mtvroadies site where Raghu Ram speaks about the current market trends and the thought process driving programs like Splitsvilla to the lime light.

It is a rapidly changing scenario in terms of quality of the reality shows today. Splitsvilla is something that was completely unheard of.

Now wait for a sec , what I want to tell you is here is Raghu , who studied in an IIM and then instead of going here and there for an investment banker job he turned out in the MTv studios, Cool isn’t it.

Harsha Bhogle another ex IIMite. If you are creative and don’t want to waste time doing stuff that belongs to grandpas profile try creativity

Result of all

Well, though it comes out of Bans mouth , I have started to agree on many of his banalisms.

The one that he finally pointed out on phone yesterday was a sad one. He is usually melodramatic about anything that he says, He is thinking of job and may be higher studies abroad and I find myself stuck with paying LIC next month for a secure future,

Are we supposed to be so worried  , will the future not take care of us. Atleast as promising student that I was I expect to do wonders with and in my life too, But it doesn’t seem to be the planned way, One way of success is a robot like life where I wake early in the morning, eat very less all day to keep my self active and not to waste a single minute in the day  , then go to sleep in the night , come back and stuff my head with this huge code base that is increasing day by day ,

I think that there is no quick solution or any such funda in life. Coming to Ban, what Ban told me , kept me awake all night,

He had seen some tennis site, nowadays many sites have started to broadcast news and stuff like that online, since media and publishing platforms have changed over the years and stuff like online channels are continuously raking in the money because of their cross platform availability.  He found this tennis site where he saw Raphael Nadal on a holilday with his girl friend . First of all he is Spanish so enjoys the attention of any woman on earth, second he enjoys the attention of spanish woman which is a blessing outright and on top of that he has a drop dead gorgeous girl friend. Now he was caught sun bathing and then surfing in cool blue waters somewhere off the coast of the Mediterranean. Paradise was it ?

Well, according to Ban , the better you have lived your life in the past few months, the better are your holidays, since you have earned well to get it, you have fatigued your mind to deserve it and you enjoy it in pure class and solitude since you could afford one such private place. That is the power of the quality of your work. The better it is , the better are your chances of getting a good holiday, Isnt it,

Every body takes a break, what is it about we Indian software engineers always feeling guilty and afraid of taking long break, What is it ?

It is not always the fear of losing a job, not always the guilt. I will tell you what, it is damn costly. That is it, it is not longer possible for us to enjoy a good holiday only because the prices have gone up, who cares if we earn may be more than we thought we could in our early childhood, When I compare how I spent 60 k this month I have no goddamn idea left in me to explain this .

What is it about India, it pays you in rupees and expects to take dollars out of you, The Indian youth is in deep stinking trouble if things don’t go as it was planned to be. What India is today is one situation of chaos, A bunch of corrupt  people deep in the stinking  mud of politics , corruption and nepotism. A economy fuelled so much by the American economy.

About gods

Nope this is not one of those blogs with rolls of useless muttering. This not about god per se.

I have not met him in person and that must explain to you what I feel.

When I was a child , I used to attend all the religious occasion with ambition to achieve the closeness and admiration of god to be one of the loved ones. Yes by the time I was 16 or 17 I started to question most of it and I had started to take most religious scripts to be nothing else but the moral code with the penal terms being harsher than any worldly  jail.

TO talk about it now, when I don’t know when was the last time I went inside a mandir or a temple. I know that one might find peace there but some how the peace is visible in some costly ashrams or in a church on the weekdays.

The temples are always full, How on earth do you think that any god will have any time for you in this hullaballoo. One of my friends was complaining about the hygiene in some of the garva grihas in some mandirs, where there no cleaning is possible since devotees will be crowding it everyday.

Now when I enter a mandir, I don’t know what to ask. Is there any power in prayer?

That is one question that needs to answered before I start believing again.

Discovery has started to show a lot of programs like “A Haunting “ to ghost villas and trying to understand the unnatural.

By the way there is site called godchecker.com that actually lets you search a host of gods on the planet. Paakiya said. Man Friday  was a great god. Man Frinday from Daniel Defoes Robinson Crusoe.

Minakshi Khanduri

There is something about this particular girl in Splitsvilla,

http://mtvroadies.xaapa.com/glamour/category/dumped-girls-reactions/minakshi-khanduri/

She was slowly sliding out of the show more so because she wanted it. I know that the guys out there are trying to make a decision that they don’t give a rats tail worth of value ,but there is something about Minakshi that tells me that she will make it big , whether here in media or in any other field. She is so cool about her getting dumped.

She is hot and has the latina color with Indian looks, and also is sexy to the core and sweet face. All the things that goddess of the fabled mythology could touch . Well, Since I am committed I am not supposed to talk like this about another lady , but I think it will be a unfair on my part to not show the world how a girl is ought to be praised if need be.

I think  if Minakshi wanted to stay it would have been very difficult for the others , definitely. She did not show any attempt to stay , may be her script was that way , but whatever it is you definitely left indelible marks on me somewhere.

Good girl, and have the merit to be a top femme. Good luck

Arranged Marriages.

After some verbal assaults from Ban on this topic, he finally landed on arranged marriages to be nothing short of deranged marriages,

And he thinks that on the same grounds as this we should challenge the existence of god. Then he started relating something completely controversial. Atleast according to the latest news channels. He started doing the Ku Tark.

There is tark, bitarka and there is ku tarka.

Like, if a glass half empty can be termed as glass half full, similarly a door fully closed should be called fully open. Wow, that was like some thing out of the blue . A blue moon out the blue, He seems to be having these hallucinations most of the time nowadays with American companies slowly becoming a spoilers with the average middle class American not being able to afford products made from third world countries like ours and services where Indian employees answer their calls. There has been some amount of load shedding from the working culture in India nowadays.

Still, to come back to arranged marriage, he picked up some stuff that he caught on aaj tak about some groom getting  groomnapped and then taken to the marriage hall. Then he was married to this fat ass bride whom he might had avoided if there was no video camera to take recording of. So there he is married to this happily married bride of his. He has to take care of him, and since the cost of maintaining an elephant has gone up with shit like inflation and all that happening, he has finally asked for that thing that no self respecting ,  ego pampering , and dollar earning youth of today would ask.

Dowry …. And it was like the brides family was ready with it since the time they knew that the X and Y s have resulted in F.  Both parties new that something wrong is on the other ones mind but no one dare say,

And pop comes the money . One brought 15 kilos of 100 rupee notes. And the sack was left there to be admired by the video camera. Wow, that is how it is. If some one picks you up , you end up in double bed needing triple size one with truck loads of money to make up for it.

Some interesting stuff for Bengalis in Bangalore

Though it is a shame that being in Hyderabad I had to take Tata Sky to get Bangla channels at home whereas  Etv Bangla is produced right there in Hyderabad ( Ramoji Film City )

So much so that most of the time I have flew to Kolkata from Hyderabad I have met people working on the Bengali channel. News readers to many technical people , many of the actors and sometimes with luck, Bengali  actresses, though nowadays every other girl from Bengal has been turning heads here and there.

They rule the south movies industry and after Kajol and Rani Mukherjee, Bollywood is not to be left either.

Well, the information that I wanted to talk about, first, I am finding more and more stores in the town ( Bengaluru ) to be selling Anandamela. Don’t know who it was to start it but it was a good business opportunity.  It will revive the magazine which has gone from being in competition to be the best childrens magazine in the country to be a 32 page slim , ad rigged monthly magazine without the creative team behind ( who have packed their bags for other better opportunities again to appease some American company or a better paying job in Mumbai ,

Well, the second thing is that more and more towns are slowly getting Bengali channels together with the default packages. These are some of the turning points of the influence and emergence of a new culture in the town. I don’t remember which museum it was, but in one of the museums in New York City I had read about the slow entry and growth of the Jewish culture in the town and how it evolved to be a prominent one by the turn of the century. This is also one of the moments where a southern city like Bengaluru is slowly becoming second home for the huge Bengali  population here.

I go out to play here with a bunch of people who had left Bengal 5 to 10 years back  , it was an exodus. All talented boys, some know how to sing, some know how to play the guitar, Some are passionate about writing, some photographers

And Some are just cool. They left their homeland a long time ago and the City welcomed them with opportunities. Even if it was then that the government could have understood the importance of the education system it could have made some differences. On the other hand, what govermnet was doing was introducing a CET train , or the so called Common Entrance Test for Karnataka Engg Colleges . So that there is one way to send them out . Farewell it was and no one returned.

And if I were to talk of the current times, it is even worse now with colleges getting sold to the junk and the ever important seats of the institutions of knowledge getting destroyed in the process. The trust  is lost, and the alma mater is some thing that people don’t always associate with education. Even if measures were taken  now, could we expect some relief.

New thoughts

Finally, I have decided to start writing on a regular basis. This blog of mine is slowly changing into an extended diary of mine. There are more personal stuff here than ever before.

Well, not of any particular interest to anyone. But it is rather intriguing to me that there is no writer who really writes about the current Indian teenagers life. The modern software engineers trysts with daily life in the ever increasing middle class of India.

I was listening to two girls chatting, who did not mind me listening it since they were pretty audible across the gap between them and my seat.

Well it was in the Bay area in the old madras road. I was sitting after the usual evening strolls that I take to reboot. One girl who pretty much looked like a smart , suave Ernst and young employee , was advising her close friend.

Smarty  - “Do you know it is rather important to look cool , slim and all that  , you need to think about it, Now that you have made it to a hep working place, it is time that you try out stuff”

Fat Ass – “ What kind of stuff?”

Smarty – “Lets say that you think that this job is there for you always, and fate has it that you have to let go of it. Some day for your family, or may be a firing, or may be another career opportunity and that day , India or rather the whole world is going through a patch of depression like the 1920s in US. If India is a striking example of growth then it is also a greate place to host the next big economical disaster “

Fat Ass – “So what”

Smarty – “ Well , you see, on that day , you might need to earn money and you wont be even able to sell you body to get anything done. I know it sounds cheap, it sounds that bad, but deep down you know right that money will never be a problem . But look at you , it is difficult in the bitchy business too . So don’t think that by just being a girl you will be able to face any kind of challenge”

Fat Ass –“ Hmm I was waiting for some one to convince me about that! “

Smarty – “No seriously look at you , even men today are trying to look pretty , I bet there are men going gaga over Ranbir Kapoor , and you cannot even think about starting the process here being a girl”

Fat Ass –“ Actually, you don’t know the truth , I have been in it for long time and now all I know is that there is a fixed deposit that I cannot just take anything out”

Smarty – “Rubbish”

FatAss –“ Go ahead, tell me about the fun you have. You only meet guys, acting like the screen sweet heroes to woo you , that too because the number of girls like you are going down alarmingly. Good looking girls are booked by NRI’s and stuff like that, Within good men easily available why should I worry about impressing any body. My aunty booked on Cardiologist in New York the other day “

Smarty – “Sometimes I feel bad , yup, somehow the good guys think that I am way above their league, since they only go to places where there are nerds and no divas, these guys have reduced their standards. Yup you are right”

Fat Ass –“ See my point. Enjoy the fruits of the mistakes of a whole generation of Indians, “

Why not?

Why not?

Why should I keep working all my life.

Yes, many did not want to and one of them was my father. He was a man of dreams, he let go of small money in distant dream that yes, more is on the way,

I remember the day when I was riding a broke bicycle and one of the sons of one of my fathers past employees son passed me in a good brand new motor cycle.

I have a made decent entry to the middle class of this rising India in the last few years but that was a sad story that reminds me of the mistakes that one generation before me some body committed and the payloads of it have been so huge that mending it will take another few years of my life in the coming time.

That is what has been the driving factor for me. Never to take anything for granted, not all talented people will reach their destiny. Most of the good and academically excellent students of our times, think that good will happen to them as they have scored better then their peers in the past. Things start getting messy when the boy you always thought to be inferior to you starts showing up as a possible money making machine. You start judging the maths score sheet in school with the monthly income.

I am sitting in a time where I can choose to go to a foreign country, earn money , ( eat there like rats in a drain , eat nominally and save money  ) . and come back for a better living style in India. Why India, because I know I will be able to dominate here when I come back. People will consider us as celebrities.

Enough, I say , but the mind always judges . It always compares, What can I do ?

I am a mere human with the knowledge that thinking so is a negative attitude, but what can I do against a torrent of such competition that runs in my blood the moment I was born in that hospital in an Indian city.

There is a competition to do things, better, faster and that to with the added salt , “no matter what you do you got to do it better than that neighbors, or that relative, or that colleagues son”

That is it!!! India will change, I will not make my son go through this pain. This pain of a broken imagery of family life, where to survive you will have to work better, For luxury you will have to pray to god and expect a lottery.

There is a culture but it is solely given to hypocrisy.

The intricate truths

Why were they not thrown upon us earlier?

Why does it take a whole childhood to realize the truths,

For a typical Indian teenager who enters his 20s with high flying thoughts , imaginations and dreams.

The world turns out to be a place full of chances and may be that I too may be a achiever some day.

Then the truth   starts unraveling. I would rather have a tougher teenage to break through earlier.

Education in India, a sheer mad and dirty business. How would you feel if your college says

“ I will give you a MBA degree  for 2.5 lakhs as admission fees without laptop and 3 lakhs with Laptops”

That is one astounding statement of the current situation of the education in country. Why do we study?

If I were the HR for a top recruitment company I will hire people right after their 12th and ask them to get the college degree through some evening college or some correspondence college. There is nothing like starting early so that by the time you are 25 you would already completed almost  decade of work and are ready to take that sabbatical and really think whether you need to study,

This is was the western countries are all about. A person really interested to pursue a course should fill that vacancy and not a jockey clad, BMW owner, son of a prick , who does not deserve to be even admitted to the holy institutions

A few days back  my cousin sister wanted to get into a good college in Kolkata. ( If possible I will try to keep this city our of my blogs, but it is haunted by its own mistakes , I cannot deny it , nor any other Bengali in this planet ) .

I know, that you cannot judge any body in todays world , but this man really a fat asshole if you were to ask me. Enters the admission hall, with a suitcase filled with money ,

His only statement was  “Katnaa paisa chaiye”

Out comes 12 lakhs, and that clerk on the counter will only cater to them right, He wont even think of my cousin ever again. These are the desparate times, lakhs and lakhs of people unable to provide education to their children.

I would say back to the jungles. I am getting increasingly tired of the scene that my country India stacks on to me.

Politics in the centre getting dominated by MP bargains, that is just the moral let down the youth of the country can suffer , I am sure the time is near when these sacks of degenerated politicians will be shown justice.

I never thought that I will say prayer has power, but here I do pray for this nation and its youth.  A need is indeed there for the youth to rise beyond its shell and grow to become what it should have years back.

The plans for a movie

I am constantly thinking about moving from this  average work.  But with the pressure of a family that looks upto you for its monetary needs, we need to garner strength to venture out, otherwise currently in the Indian markets I believe that the globalization is still starting to peek in, With such a large consumer base, any body can do some magic.

I believe that  anyone providing hygienic food and not ambience will become an instant hit, Why is it than that the food quality  in the restaurants gone down so bad.

Is it because that the owners don’t care whether there are people coming for the taste of the food or the ambience. In general  I find it easy for the owners nowadays, With so many things to try and so many cuisines left for the average Indian middle class that even if he caters to the first timers he will make a fortune,

Then there is the business of laptops. If you are not fancying selling anti virus software cds for 1000 rs, it is  better to be straight forward. Look at mobiles, prices ranging from 10k – 20 k looks like no barrier to many , recently my friend bought one for 21 k , Is that the price you pay for something that is not even a part of your personality, since I found the other day  , one auto rickshaw driver, flashing his N series and happily coasting away.

With laptops the same thing will happen, anyone able enough to sell a mobile can sell a laptop with equal ease. You will find an emerging India, people in trains and buses working on their laptops. Sweating in a clumsy crowd, these guys are listening to ipods to chill out.

Anything you do today will be readily consumed and easily bought off, We are fast becoming that culture that we despise (“Grapes are sour” ) someone said

The end of the world

Why people are increasingly starting to think that the end of the world is near?

Well, I personally think that there is a quick burning going on every where,

People are bored out their studies and want to start working asap. Like western countries where civilization came ealier than countries like ours , people have already started taking  work quite early in their lives whereas students in India will spend an entire youth trying to get degrees for worthless reasons like marriage,  and may be better future,

I feel that I lost out on industry  experience by studying in a college where there was no education but Xerox and handouts to study just a day before the exam. Got some friends, but would have found some anyway.

Now that, we don’t miss people anymore, we have more of them all the time, we trying to find excuses to avoid . There are sms, mails, cheap air travel, lot of events and money. All these things do bring people closer but the same thing that one generation earlier did is now out of the question.

People are seeing more movies, reading more, exploring more, countries are closing down the gaps between each other.  More travel, more relationships one life, one man is not only  covering more distances in a single day, they are growing exponentially every day,

We are bringing the extinction of natural resources slowly, we are bringing the death of species, we are eating away the chunks of this earth,

Soon, with this rapid growth, we will find ourselves  tired of this planet and there will be a mass exodus from this social life and the treadmill of boring, regular work. Even the Himalayas will be full of sadhus then, you cannot expect peace anywhere

That is the end of the world

Cracking the code of childhood

I have been thinking this for quite a while. The childhood that I really miss, why do I really miss it. When there was no freedom. There were so many restrictions. Why do we have memories of the stories we read and the imaginations that we had.

What was it that makes us look back to those days. I did not have a backing of a prosperous family. Education and academics was the only thing to look upto , but even I do feel the vacuum created by the end of childhood.

All of a sudden I am in my mid twenties , supposed to be the roaring ones, where as we end up spending most of our evenings in these walls of need. To fulfill   responsibilities of the coming future. To be ready when it happens.

To earn money for the deteriorating body in the process of doing it. It is all in the hope to be ready at the right time. When will be the description of childhood be better than times like these when your homework is a must and the punishment cruel. Family , dependents, shackles.

I did not have the best of childhoods, but I still want to go back. I think that the memories of childhood mainly involve our dreams and whimsies rather than the truth. We really lived in a different world. A world full of our own imaginations.

Growing up has only taught us not to stay in those dreams and get stuck. Never to fall into that trap again. That is what growing up is all about.

Stop dreaming and thinking practical, the way the world really is and how difficult the chances are . And all we wanted was to grow up. So we did and missing childhood is just missing that imaginary world of ours. Nothing more than hours of looking into the void and filling it pebbles from here and there.

The media that we watched, the very thought that there are a lot  of unknowns and that I too will grow up to be what I dream.

They just shatter , if you are not at the top, you are definitely at the bottom. This is called growing up. Growing up to what you are rather than growing up to what you think you can be.

End of danger

Are you supposed to feel optimistic about the topic. Nope, End of danger is start of the next . And that is the danger from within , the failure to cope up with the danger , the mistakes that could have happened and the next few steps.

The few days on  earth , dangers from all sides. That is what makes the end of danger all the more difficult for we Indians.

We have come a long way , but do you know that the scenes of a rapidly growing India is an image that is wrongly perceived among no one else but the Indian himself.  I was reading an article in the newspaper on the number of suicides happening in India. On an average in the last ten year 7-8 farmers have committed suicide every day.

DO they even care when the flyover will be completed ? Do they even know what it means to get a dollar salary?

Nope, I am not even talking about them. I am talking about suicides rising in the number of newly married people. The image of the husband and the wife is no longer decided and thought in the same lines as the olden days, and we all know that. Still in this treadmill of 9 – 9 work  no body chooses a lifepartner the way it should be done. There are some prejudices about the white skin among males and for females it is the best of the lot she moves around and that is it.  Not all of them are mature enough to take the plunge after some careful years trying to understand. Mostly it is the family taking the decisions in case of the old average good boy of the middle class Indian households. Or else it is the quick decision taken while taking a small leave from office.

On the other hand, the western countries take the institution of marriage as the single most fate changing decision of life. We on the other hand go a long way to break all the barriers of a though process and any logical thinking. Beer that helps old and ugly women get sex in the western countries runs its parallel  in India in the institution of arranged marriage.

The decision taken by some one in 1950 , will have to be carried till 2000 where as the man who takes the decision may die  in the next 10 years not knowing the fate of the marriage .

That sort of irrational thought process that this country has imposed on the children of the nation has brought us to a stage where we will see an high number of divorces in the coming days, and any divorce lawyer out there is in for surprises.

The image of a good heroic husband should be immediately stopped , the porn movies should be banned and marriages should more on realistic grounds rather than a media driven , image loaded hedonism

Well, in the mean time, after all the efforts now I am here late in office. Tuesday afternoon. Not able to cope up with movies, work and life. What can a man do when he is so stuck trying to appease the American management.

I have started to believe her now . She always says “ What good will come of it?” They will fire you any day. May not be anyday . But any fine day after a dry spell. Definitely.

Still, If I were to pursue my sketching thing everyday, I need some more time. And I am not able to make anytime for it.

Moni Da

Nostalgia, isn’t it ?

Pure Nostalgia.

Kuri bochor pore abar.

Mohiner Ghoraguli. Gautam Chatterjee. Often known as the father of the Jiban Mukhi revolution. The current Bengali generation does not have much of an exposure to the vibrancy of the cultural strength that the state of Bengal possesses.  Since all the talent has been distributed across the world in different offices work day and night in search of a better life.

We as a generation has lost it to the mistakes of the generation behind us. The intellectual individual is lost, and become the loner that he always wanted to become.
